This is the only gun law he should sign. He had a chance when the GOP had both houses of Congress. Forget about it now.

He needs to say ... “Before we can even discuss gun issues, we need to have a wall and and a completely secure border”.

There were a lot of things that would have/could have/should have happened in the first two years, but we had Bush League Republicans instead of patriots.
We need to replace the Democrats in R jerseys.

What, you don’t like the 14,000 already on the books? :-)

The stated goal (they are not even hiding it anymore) is total confiscation of all firearms, and throwing anyone who doesn't comply into jail or into a coffin.

The 14,000 laws have (so far) not totally taken everyone's guns, but they are getting closer.

The "Red Flag" laws is gun confiscation on steroids. ANYONE can report ANYONE ELSE and their guns will be taken, and they will have to fight and spend tens of thousands of dollars (at least) in a vain attempt to get them back.

Once the guns are gone, the "Red Flag" laws will be expanded into other areas. Christians, patriots, free thinkers...…..time to round them up.

True statement.

No votes for a gun grabber. Supreme court picks are irrelevant if only governments and criminals have guns.
Shall not be infringed is pretty clear english.
Bump stock bans weren’t enough for him.
So why does the dept of education have fully automatic weapons and we domt?

Don’t we already have background checks?

"He needs to say ... 'Before we can even discuss gun issues, we need to have a wall and and a completely secure border'."

If the wall and border were first secured, passing gun control would still cost him the election.

"Don’t we already have background checks?"

A universal background check law would make private transfers of firearms illegal. The only exception *might* be transfers between immediate family members.

Either way, the government would have a database and means for forcibly confiscating all firearms. Republicans, working for their more equal constituents, assume that the reaction from voters will be to simply try to vote Republicans back into office. No-go, though. No way. They've forgotten too soon, why Obama was elected for two terms (backstabbing from too many elitist Republicans).

As soon as Democrats take executive office, politicians in both parties will pass more gun control and reverse any law that would stand in their way of keeping and using those database records to confiscate all firearms. The confiscation laws will be passed, and the raids will commence.

The media is speculating Trump is considering a limited UBC bill. Not between friends, acquaintances, and family members, but anyone at gun shows and anyone advertising on the internet.

This is still a NO GO. Reasons are, it prevents anyone from acquiring a firearm “off the books”. You can still claim you disposed of it without a BGC, but you will be a lot more scrutinized.

It’s a strong step towards registration. Trump will lose 5 million votes if he proceeds.

Certainly I will sit on MY hands in 2020, should he take this horrendous decision.

Exactly right. Amidst all the people here insisting we “vote, vote, vote” for Romney and McCain. They would have sold us to the Democrats and had it blamed on the GOP.

Florida has them and Alabama has them. Florida also has a three day waiting period.

Nothing else could make him lose next year.

Sure there is. If Trump would say...I was wrong about the wall, we don’t need it. Or, I’ve decided to work with the Dems and grant total amnesty to all illegals who are here. Or, I’m all in on the Green New Deal...I could go on. The gun stuff ain’t the only thing that could severely jeopardize Trump’s reelection chances.
