NETANYAHU GETS PRE-ELECTION SUPPORT FROM PUTIN IN SOCHI
JPost ^ | Sep 12 2019 | HERB KEINON

The results of the Knesset election are very important to Moscow, and it hopes politicians will be elected who will maintain close ties with Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin said alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Sochi on Thursday.

Netanyahu traveled to the Black Sea resort to meet the Russian leader – just five days before the election – in a move widely seen as an effort to woo elder Russian-speaking immigrants who form an important base of support for Avigdor Liberman’s Yisrael Beytenu party.

Isn’t Likud’s base primarily Sephardic? Reaching out to the non-socialist Ashkenazi makes sense

Netanyahu can be friends with Putin and I don’t hear anybody objecting, including Democrats in Congress who claim to support Israel. But they howl like banshees if Trump says he wants good relations with Russia

Double standard much?

Netanyahu is pro-Israel.

I think you edge on being a concern troll with some of your posts, quite frankly.

It makes more sense for Putin to support Liberman for many reasons. I don’t have idea what is behind this meeting. Probably both try to play each other.

It is prophesied that Gog of Magog will support Persia in attacking Israel in the last days.

Some of us believe that is Russia supporting Iran. Which is actually true.

So, I don’t trust Russia. But I’d rather have Bibi than any Israeli leftist, that’s for sure (not saying you supported that, just to be clear where my support is).

Nice pic. I’m also reminded that Erdogan has been alternately hot-cold (read that as unfriendly-friendly) with Israel.

I believe Turkey is House of Togarmah in Ezekiel 38 (the Iranian invasion that may very well be with Russia’s assistance).

Strange days we’re living in. Or shall we say “interesting times”.

I believe you tend to simplify international relations and read the old legend outside of recent context.

That I actually agree with.

I have said before that the Democrats were willing to start World War IV with Russia over Hillary losing. Because they went that crazy.

I DO strongly believe that Russia is Magog in Ezekiel 38. However, the only likely way to stop them before that is pretty much nothing short of nuclear war. Which none of us want to see.

Ezekiel 38 is pretty clear that God brings the disaster upon the invaders and wipes out most of them (KJV terminology unique to that version). It says 1/6th of the attackers shall remain. At least by the time Ezekiel 39 occurs.

Ezekiel 39:2 King James Version

2 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:

Some believe Ezekiel 38 is Armageddon. I don’t necessarily agree with that.

There are very weird alliances over there. I am against Russia helping Iran but I don’t have any ICBM to do anything about it (heh, just joking).

Bibi knows that Russia is helping and arming Iran. He may think he’s mitigating the problem (but I don’t know). He may consider this “diplomacy”.

I DO know that some portion of Israel is concerned about Gog-Magog. Some of them (BION) identified George W. Bush as Gog (no joke).

As I said, these are very strange times we’re living in.

It will become reality. It’s old only in the sense when it was given. There is a missing component - Libya. They will have to align with Iran.

It may not be a coincidence that Barack and Hillary turned Libya into even more of a nightmare.

So I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree on Ezekiel 38.

for trying to get along with Russia.

Russia obstructs that from happening more than the Dems. Tell them to get out of Venezuela and quit helping prop North Korea, and performing huge military drills with China. Trump just approved $250 million for military aid to Ukraine. Deal with it.

LOL. You need to take a lesson or two on what diplomacy is. Why Russia should get out of Venezuela? Tell me at least five reasons.
As for Ukraine and $250 million nobody really cares over there. That’s just another $250 million on top of cushy Ukrainian generals’ retirement plans. Most would flow back into US economy in form of support of Florida’s housing market. Some would send their kids to the universities in US. None would buy Ford though. They prefer Mercedes and Bentley. Business as usual.

And above all. How is all you wrote above any related to Israel? Not even Ukrainians are buying this anti-Russian drivel anymore, much less people in Israel.

I agree totally. Russia is too important to ignore. I think we have to get by the impeachment sh**, the 2020 election and we will sit down at the table.

As far as Crimea....it never should have gone to Ukraine in the first place. In fact, if I recall, it wasn't in Ukraine's original constitution and was later added under very special conditions...it's complicated.

I don’t believe Turkey is anti-semitic enough to wage an aggressive war on Israel. It is basically in the same Bloc with Israel with Erdogan government as a slight deviation but deviation not strong enough. Libya is a non-player right now and for decades to come. Before that it was more left-wing than Muslim and couldn’t care less about Israel apart from lip service to Arab League. Russia has strong cultural ties to Israel and a huge Jewish lobby inside country. The same is true inside Israel and for a higher extent. The only reason why Russia and Israel aren’t the closest allies is a traditional geopolitical alignment of both countries set during the Cold War. That’s it.
