Natural remedies, such as Hippocrates used, which have been used for two and more thousands of years, are actively denounced and even outlawed by the FDA. Until the advent of Sulfa Drugs, followed by Penicillin, in the 1930s, natural remedies, such as Lugol’s Solution (around since the 1830s), were a staple in the pharmacopia of Medical Doctors.
Hippocrates would lose his license for malpractice in today’s culture.

White Willow Bark, a major natural source of salicine, is a natural alternative to pharmaceutical salicylate (aspirin), and is safer, since it is indirect, giving the body more control. However, being natural, it does not offer the profit motive due to patent.
