Not sure about Toyota, but Honda offers you a standard 5 year/60,000 mile warranty compared to Nissan's 3 year/36,000 miles. But they (Honda) also offers an extended warranty to 10 years/120,000 miles for about 1.5% of the purchase price.

That is the kind of confidence that the non government owned car makers have in their product. Take a look at KBB for a Nissan, Toyota, Subaru or Honda with over 200,000 miles. They will still list close to $2,000 or more. Your equivalent size in GM or Chrysler won't even tick to $1,000 in most cases if they are still on the road which most aren't.

No, car ran fine.

Did have probs though.
The dome light was left on on a freezing cold night the next morning the battery wouldn’t start the engine and the entire dashboard went completely haywire.
That killed the remote lock system. trying to troubleshoot it was like troubleshooting the space shuttle.
I probably should have picked up a OBD2 scanner to help me with it but never got the chance.
Also the Bose amplifier fried out emitting a extremely loud screeching noise out of all the speakers i had to pull the fuse.
Apparently it was a common problem, i found a guy on the web that fixes them but never got that chance either.

Probs like that is why i bought the Toyota.
My 87 Supra went over 300,000 trouble free miles besides basic maintenance on wearable parts.
I’m sticking with that brand from here on out.

Collective bargaining in the private sector helped to ensure profit sharing for the employees. So the could have decent pay, benefits, work protections, and retirement. Working on contract to contract.

Corruption should always be dealt with. And some are better than others. Like the ones who take union dues and sell them out. Giving money to libs selling their jobs.

But some unions did used to provide protections for workers who spent their lives serving and sacrificing for the company.

I am a retired union worker’s daughter. And thank God for my father being able to retire. With him not have to work handing out carts at Walmart.

Had an Arcadia. Was always waiting for something to go wrong. Unloaded it before it was at the point of no return. I think they make so much money off of parts and labor with GM Certified parts and technicians. People would kill to make that much money on an assembly line. They deserved to be fired.

There are going to be lots of angry 2020 Corvette owners.

They’ll be angry whether they get their cars or not. Junk.

Strikes are as necessary as taking a crap. The GM strike allowed the overweight and very big mouthed black union woman to mouth off on TV. She hates her bosses and probably he collegeaues.

The strike allows her to march and be pissed off in public

The strike is a pop off valve.

Toyota’s warranty is 3/36 as well.

Honda’s warranty is currently 5/60 because they had some *really* bad 5 speed automatics in the 2000s and they pissed off a whole bunch of people.

Most mainstream manufacturers offer various extra cost ‘extended warranties’ to 10/120 for about the same price. This is not unusual at all in the industry.

KBB does not always reflect market reality and market pricing does not always reflect the quality of the product. Been associated with the car industry off and on for about 20 years now - but right now I don’t own any domestic vehicles. I would also point out that there’s a LOT of Subarus with 200K not in the Blind Subaru Fanboy areas of the US that are going for pocket change.

Mostly Rick Hunter drove various Plymouth Furies. The Monaco showed up in only the first two seasons.

I want people to Buy American, but I won’t fault anyone who wants to avoid the UAW. I hope those who want to avoid the UAW will consider transplants as an option, so that we at least keep the manufacturing jobs here.
