As a dog lover I don’t like what they say about dogs:
Dogs in Islam are thought of as ritually impure. Even the mere sight of a dog during prayer has the power to nullify a pious Muslim’s supplications.
Cats are thought to be ritually clean, unlike dogs, and are thus allowed to enter homes and even mosques, including Masjid al-Haram. Food sampled by cats is considered halal and water from which cats have drunk is permitted for wudu.
