Crude prices surged Sunday evening following an attack on Saudi Arabia’s oil infrastructure and announcement from President Trump that he has authorized the release of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

U.S. oil futures advanced about 12% to $61.60 a barrel shortly after trading opened at 6 p.m. ET. Brent crude, the global gauge of oil prices, soared 13% to nearly $69 a barrel. If those moves held, they would mark some of the biggest intraday for crude in years.

I might also say that with possible charges coming against the players in the conspiracy to frame Trump then this is a very convenient change of the narrative.

The damage will be worked around — production will be back to normal quickly, if the Saudis want it of be back to normal.\

Some speculators will lose their shirts, others will make a killing.

As other countries increase the use of fracking, there will be a world wide glut of oil and gas.

Our oil producers will up their output. They don’t want the President to use the reserve to lower prices. Illogical.

Sad that there weren’t massive deaths though.

You are toxic.

Pretty much a push for the US these days, now that we’re virtually not importing oil anymore.

Then there are those who believe that there are no conspiracies. That is why the attempted coup against Trump was able to be carried out. Because that just could not happen in our justice department. Those who don’t believe that conspiracies exist- make it very easy for conspirators to carry out their plans and get away with them.

Clapper, Brennon, Comey and McCabe called in some markers? Perhaps.

California gas prices will jump the most of anywhere. Those people are pissed, guaranteed! I bet that low grade tops $5/gal. That said, the gasoline company consortium of Tesoro, Chevron, and Valero are raking in cash.

G_d I’m glad to be out of there!

What a load of crap. I didn’t say there are no conspiracies. I said everything is not a conspiracy.

Sheesh. Some of the posters here are unhinged. Are you amongst them?

I believe prices will close lower than open tomorrow. This is a speed bump.

There is no supply issue, just panic over nothing. Trump does not need to release any crude. Just wait it out.

1 USA, we export more than all the rest,
2 Russia, they are just around production cost.
3 Other Arabian concerns
4 Saudi, they have to dump profits into repair
5 Iran, they are under embargo.

We win

Until they are stopped, the Iranians and their axis friends will try to drive up oil prices for obvious reasons.

Destruction of all Iranian oil and military facilities might be the best way to deal with it.

What a crock of $hit.

Two days before these fires started Fox Business ( Stuart Varney ) reported there was a GLUT of oil and oil prices were expected to continue to fall.

America has also been declared to be "oil independent" thanks to fracking.
