P.S. — if oil flowing out of the Persian Gulf is a core U.S. interest, then why have we imposed an embargo on Iranian oil?

Because there’s enough oil being produced that we can consider other interests, one of which is to ensure all other producers get to ship to market.

And another of which is to starve the Iranian Regime in a effort to thwart their nuke ambitions.

Because Iran supports terrorism in a big way. More $ to Iran helps them to create more terrorists. Why does that have to be explained?
