Because we have done so well with Energy over the last few years (thank you, Mr. President!), we are a net Energy Exporter, & now the Number One Energy Producer in the World. We dont need Middle Eastern Oil & Gas, & in fact have very few tankers there, but will help our Allies!

I filled up last night thinking price would spike today. $2.19 in NC with a Sheetz loyalty card, $2.22 without.
Ahh much better - This is the president I know. Take your old and shove it up your ...
Oil is a worldwide market with high transportability and few direct substitutes.
While the U.S. has enough of our own, we are not immune to price shocks.
Well, let’s be honest here, the oil market is global. While “we” don’t need to import oil, the price of privately owned oil is going to rise during global shortages.
They are going to open ANWAR
The Saudi oil that was hit is supposedly five percent or less of the worlds oil useage
And, as I posted over in that other post, Trump seems to think so also.
Gets me that WE are over in the Gulf defending the oil states so that the EU, Japan, China, etc., gets their oil and yet those thugs DO NOT send one war ship to defend the Gulf from Iran trying to take over. Tell the Chinamen to send over some of those war ships they are building to attack us some day, to the Gulf, to defend their own danged oil supplies!!!!!!
Perhaps not -- but we DO need more refineries and more internal distribution infrastructure.
I have a friend who is working on that problem they have made huge breakthrough and now through pilot - he invented an entirely new technology it’s crazy, not BS silicon valley technology science based technology. I told him he definitely needs to work on his ego as he is way too humble. Anyhow it deals with cleaning up the water quickly and not necessarily all the way so you can use it again
We really have come to the point at which we should not do anything until we wait the required ten years for the CIA and the DOJ decide to let us know what actually happened. Ever again.
The U.S. imports about 10 million barrels of oil a day.
About 16% is from the Persian Gulf area (9% Saudi Arabia, 5% Iraq & 2% other).
Why import still from Saudi Arabia and Iraq?
The cost of production for oil in Saudi Arabia and Iraq is about $3 and $6 a barrel respectively. For the U.S., onshore production is about $73 and about $57 offshore. Even after transportation costs, the largest Middle East suppliers are still cheap. U.S. integrated oil companies (oil well production and refining) make more money exporting U.S. oil and using what cheap Middle East oil they can.
Yes, the U.S. can export less and import more from sources not in the Middle East. There will be price increases, at the gas pump, from such adjustments.

“If this attack was real then its pretty bold.”
I am quite curious to see the real evidence. Everything that moves in the air should be on American radar in the Middle East. I want to see those drone and missile tracks from beginning to end. All of them.
Then, we can encourage the Saudis to defend themselves properly.
Attacking an enemy who’s killing an enemy is silly.
I know some here get, I dunno, physical? thrills out of wars and battles but SA AND Iran are POS so let them kill each other.
Last I check, the ones with the biggest US kill number was SA at 3000.
ABC “news” is horrified by this and the new revelations against Kavanaugh this morning. Democrats have all kinds of things to say, according to ABC “News.”
RBG must be really ill and this is a shot across the bow for Trump.
...and they let ten years go by before they could see their way clear to share that little bit of info with us (that Saudis did 911). Which makes me think maybe we should just wait ten years to decide how to respond to this.
The neo-cons and liberals want a war.
Trump took the major cause of war off the table.
Just my opinion but our intel agencies have lied to us so many times and not in just the remote past that I wouldnt trust any of them on a damn thing. If the people who tried and are STILL trying to run a coup on our President want war I can think of no better reason for not having one.
Agreed.
