They are insane. They would require me to get a background check before giving my grandson a .22 rifle for his birthday. What the hell kind of background check could be done for a ten year old? So would the fact none could be done mean he cant have it?

They just want the fact that your 10 year old grandson has a .22 rifle in that database the government claims not to have.
That way, when your 10 year old's .22 gets re-classified as a "sniper rifle", they know exactly where to send the goons to go kick down the door and take it.

I think he’d have to be 18 to clear an FFL. That said, it’s as much about identifying a specific firearm, and who has it, as anything else.

The Counselors and Teachers might put anything in there, especially if he did something like wear a MAGA hat.
