They are insane. They would require me to get a background check before giving my grandson a .22 rifle for his birthday. What the hell kind of background check could be done for a ten year old? So would the fact none could be done mean he can’t have it?

They just want the fact that your 10 year old grandson has a .22 rifle in that database the government claims not to have.
That way, when your 10 year old's .22 gets re-classified as a "sniper rifle", they know exactly where to send the goons to go kick down the door and take it.

I think he’d have to be 18 to clear an FFL. That said, it’s as much about identifying a specific firearm, and who has it, as anything else.

Get into his files at school and at the Doctors.

The Counselors and Teachers might put anything in there, especially if he did something like wear a MAGA hat.
