The TV ads every twenty minutes after 9/11 showed “I am an American” with a Lebanese firefighter and so on.
We weren’t supposed to form mobs against the terrorist types like the Americans after Pearl Harbor faced down Japanese and Germans who refused to condemn the attacks.
First dilemma for police was to find some place to save them from attacks as police broke up the many fights. Some Japanese were pulled from their cars and punched. People took Pearl Harbor hard, I have been told.
Omar should note the American people voted for a man whose middle name was Hussein (like an enemy leader Saddam Hussein) and they were not prejudiced against such a man.
Try that in any other nation on earth. Never happen.
