Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Felipe Vazquez has been arrested on charges of computer pornography - solicitation of a child and providing obscene material to minors, authorities said Tuesday.
Vazquez is being held in the Allegheny County Jail, awaiting extradition to Lee County, Florida.
FDLE agents, with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police, today arrested Felipe Vazquez, 28, of Saint Cloud, FL, for one count of computer pornography - solicitation of a child and one count of providing obscene material to minors. Vazquez, a baseball player with the Pittsburgh Pirates, was taken into custody in Pittsburgh this morning on a felony warrant out of Lee County, Florida.
FDLEs investigation began in August of this year after agents obtained information that Vazquez had a reported sexual relationship with a 13-year old female victim who resides in Lee County. The victim, now 15 years of age, was continuing to have a relationship with Vazquez via text messaging and received a video in July from him in which he is shown performing a sex act. Additionally, Vazquez allegedly sent the victim text messages suggesting they would meet for sex after his baseball season was over.
FDLE agents and Pennsylvania State Police served a search warrant today at Vazquezs apartment in Pittsburgh. Several electronic devices were seized and will be examined as part of this investigation. Additional charges are dependent upon completion of forensic exams.
Vazquez was taken to the Allegheny County Jail, where he will face extradition to Lee County, Florida.

Isn’t it amazing that they can find old evidence on this black ball player, while every white FOB & Hillary, and rich horny guys get to skate? Now that’s what the politically connected call Too Effing Bad.
Perp changed his surname in 2018.
What did MLB know and when did it know it...
Which would be...right about now.
I'd imagine that anyone as big and well-conditioned as most professional athletes will probably be the ones administering the jailhouse justice to other unfortunates not so capable of defending themselves. Someone's got to do it.
Why do you think my handle is surrounded by blue?
I lived in Wilkinsburg when I joined FR. There were like 5 registered Republicans in my precinct. Im in the North Hills now but all the progressive trash from the city is rapidly making its way up here.
LOL. Brilliant!
Maybe they can trade him to the Somali Pirates for a hijacker to be named later.
Knowing a retired prison guard, that's pretty much a myth............Just sayin'
The Blue Jays would take him?
Could be because more prisons, if not most, segregate sex offenders.
Here in Houston it was the same way until the Astros were sold to the current owner. It was worth moving to the American League to get good ownership.
Another myth, they don't......
I'm just a messenger and relaying what a former prison guard has told me..........carry on.
Where were these rich, athletic, famous people when I was a teen?

I grew up in the Burgh area and am still a Pirates fan. This year has been a total nightmare - the one consistent bright spot has been Vazquez. Once Collapsening II happened I was hoping they would complete the trade with the Dodgers but alas.....
We all need to remember innocent until proven guilty - but it sure doesn’t sound good. I guess Keone Kela, another head job, is the new closer. Their brightest hope is now to lose out the rest of the season and get a decent draft pick. Next season is pretty much a wash as well - the only top prospect left (K’Bryan Hayes) projects as a middling big leaguer, the pitching staff is reminiscent of the 1980’s and there will be no money to hire decent free agents. And Papa Clint and Uncle Ray will pick and grin through it all.
Yes they make a profit. They spend only what they are required to spend in the profit sharing agreement and not one penny more on salary. The owners pull every penny above that out.
Not bad from a business standpoint but worthless from actually having a product worth seeing
Nutrients wont ever sell unless the mlb were to force them to.. they put out a crap product and make millions doing it.. to be competitive would reduce their profits so they have no desire to do so
It is a sickness, and it has no cure. Logic doesn’t apply.
Here in NJ we had a pervert governor doing weird sh!t; the position was meaningless as it relates to the sickness.
Last night they lost to a complete joke of a Mariners team 6-0. Honestly I think there was more talent on the field in the AAA playoff game that was on over at Fox Sports.
But if they’re Kindergarten teachers teaching about homosexual fisting, any opposition is homophobic.
Actually that was pretty much the Indianapolis Indians out there.
