Mark Levin: If Something Serious Isn’t Done, Iran Will Take This Attack as a First Step
CNS News ^ | September 17, 2019 | Michael Morris

Posted on 09/17/2019 7:42:12 PM PDT by Kazan

On his nationally syndicated radio talk show “The Mark Levin Show” on Monday, host Mark Levin warned that if something serious isn’t done, Iran will take this attack as a first step.

“I will say this, if something isn’t done, something serious and significant isn’t done respecting Iran, they’re going to take this as a first step,” stated Mark Levin. “I’m just telling you. They’re going to take this as a first step. So, we’ll see what happens.”

Mark Levin’s comments came after a Saudi Arabian oil facility was attacked by “cruise missiles and drones,” FOX News reported, that “were launched from Iranian soil,” and after Iran seized control of another oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.

Below is a transcript, in pertinent part, of Mark Levin’s remarks from his show on Monday:

“The Iranians are not going away.

“So what should the president do? Short of military action – and I’m not saying we should be short of military action, but if we are – what should we do? Should we lift our sanctions? No. There are five areas of waivers that the secretary of state’s office has argued should not be lifted, that is, they shouldn’t be imposed on Iran. Will the secretary of state change his mind now? I hope. There needs to be a lot of pressure on Iran.

“I read an article the other day – I don’t know if it’s right or not – that Iran’s pension funds are about to collapse, including with the military. Isn’t that a good thing? Wouldn’t that be great?

“So why would we give them a $15 billion bridge loan?

“Remember the gentleman who called last week? He had been from Eastern Europe, I believe. No, he was from France, I think – originally, now an American. He said, ‘Do you remember how Khomeini would up in Iran? Because the French government released him.’ The French make very, very stupid foreign policy decisions, which is why they’re a second- and third-tier country. I don’t think we need to be taking advice from Macron, who’s got 27 percent popularity in France, and has no background on anything, no background on anything.

“So the Iranians are pirates on the open sea. They took another oil tanker yesterday.

“If you go on the internet – you won’t read this in many newspapers because the media are the media – you’ll see they’re kidnapping British and Australians and others left and right now.

“This attack on Saudi Arabia should grab your attention because of its accuracy, the devastation and the technology involved.

“And as I told you before, maybe Rand Paul is not aware of this, the fifth fleet is harbored in Bahrain. Should we withdraw? Should we pull back? How about with China? They took over the South China Sea with their fake islands. Should we withdraw, pull back? Should we take our subs off of the Korean peninsula, remove them too? Where should we go? Where should we go? Just keep pulling back and back and back and let these various threats and enemies grow and grow and grow?

“Rand Paul asked a question over the weekend: ‘Why are we in Afghanistan?’ Is this guy an idiot? Does anybody know why we went into Afghanistan? Anybody? Everybody knows why we went into Afghanistan. Because the Taliban gave safe harbor to Al Qaeda and Bin Laden, and if we take all of our troops out of Afghanistan, what do you think is going to happen?

“I mean, how many more times do we have to lose Americans, heroes, blood to go back and fight the same battles, go back and fight over the same territory? It’s— At one point we had over 140,000 troops in Afghanistan. We’re down to 14,000. We have about anywhere from 1,500 to 2,200 special forces in Syria. We have minimal presence in Iraq.

“We’re not an invading army. We’re not going to war with these countries. We’re trying to make sure we’re not attacked – yes, from 7,000 miles away – that we’re not attacked. We’re not colonialists. We’re not conquerors.

“I will say this, if something isn’t done, something serious and significant isn’t done respecting Iran, they’re going to take this as a first step. I’m just telling you. They’re going to take this as a first step. So, we’ll see what happens.

“But right now they’re controlling events – not the world – they’re controlling events.”

Good post. Isolationism is also a natural state of affairs when people recognize that they live in a country run by corrupt, lying @ssholes.

And I apply that term “@ssholes” very broadly ... to Democrats and Republicans alike.

This time the Grahams, Levins, and the Media and Politicians in general can get first hand experience at how great battle is, and watching your friends and fellow Marines get mutilated or killed for their (politicians and media) woodies.

It's no more fun seeing friends and loved ones killed or militated in terrorist attacks.

The issue should be whether military action is necessary or not. If it to protect one's citizens, anyone should be for it.

RETALIATION and PUNISHMENT have a tendency to breed MORE RETALIATION AND PUNISHMENT.

Dumb, dumb, dumb...Muslim terrorists or states don't need a reason to retaliate or strike without provocation. That true going back to the Crusades.

Islam is religion of conquest. The radical believe Islam should rule the world and infidels standing their way must be destroyed or subjugated.

Ignore the problem isn't going to make it go away. Bill Clinton tried that.

Wrong. What would guarantee Trump not getting reelected is a terrorist attack on his watch that he didn't prevent.

The Paultards here are setting up Trump and Republicans for the same kind of failure Bush set Republicans up for -- enacting of bad, liberal ideas.

With Bush it was compassionate conservatism. With the Paultards, it's pot legalization, going soft on crime and isolationism.

Let’s try it this way.
How many American lives and how much American treasure are you willing to spend for those people?

If Saudi Arabia or Israel have a problem with Iran, let them fight it out. No more Americans dying for the hell-holes of the mid-east.

Agreed. I'm tired of our kids dying for the interests of foreign powers.

You'd prefer more civilians die here and abroad in Islamic terrorist attacks?

I'd prefer we stay out of Middle East conflicts, AND expel all Muslim "refugees" and disallow Muslim immigration.

Notice how Mark Levin cleverly avoided giving an answer to the question Rand Paul actually asked:

Why are we in Afghanistan?’ Is this guy an idiot? Does anybody know why we went into Afghanistan? Anybody? Everybody knows why we went into Afghanistan.

Sen. Paul didn’t ask why we went into Afghanistan, Mark. He asked why we are still there EIGHTEEN F#&%ING YEARS LATER.

Sorry warmongers, deep staters, government trolls and uniparty types - War with Iran has been canceled.

Which is another straw man isolationists use. No one is discussing go to war with Iran. Bombing is not the same as a full-fledged war.

But, it will be absolutely necessary to do so if Iran gets nuclear weapons or kills Americans.

If this thread doesn’t convince everyone that Libertarians are in control of Free Republic then nothing ever will.

From pot legalization to police bashing to isolationism, it's gotten out of control and doesn't represent the majority of conservatives in the country.

Rand Paul would get his ass kicked again if there was an open primary this election season.

Please explain to me where our National Interest lies with defending Saudi Oil?

Iran can figure out -- driving up gas prices causes a US and/or global recession that results in a Trump loss:

An editorial in the official Iranian Fars News today tacitly admits the goal of the Saudi attack this past weekend was to bring down Donald Trump’s 2020 Presidency.

“I will say this, if something isn’t done, something serious and significant isn’t done respecting Iran, they’re going to take this as a first step,” stated Mark Levin.

And what would Levin have us do? Go to war? I'm sure he'll be first in line at the recruiting station.

Another dinosaur totally comfortable with the Bush/Clinton way of thinking. Get bent, Levin.

We accomplished that by November 2001.

Incorrect. We didn't accomplish our war objectives in Afghanistan until we killed Bin Laden.

That being said, we're not fighting a war there anymore and have been since Bin Laden died. We're using Afghanistan as a base of operation to combat Islamic terrorism that threats national security.

And, should remain in Afghanistan just like we've remained in Germany for 70 years after WWII.

Iran’s links to the incidents you described are far more tenuous than OUR OWN links

Paranoid much? Conspiracy theories destroy rational thought.

Iran news outlets are bragging about the attack.

I ESPECIALLY HATE the fact that the are getting young men killed

Hate it all you like but some wars and military operations are absolutely necessary.

Terrorist acts like 9/11 and their aftermath are no better than deaths during wars.

The war in Afghanistan was absolutely necessary in order to bring those responsible for 9/11 to justice and to prevent more 9/11s.

War sucks but without we wouldn't remain a free, sovereign nation.
