President Trump is blaming Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke for making it “much harder” for him to reach a bipartisan deal with Democrats on gun control legislation in the wake of a string of mass shootings.

Trump tweeted early Wednesday that the former Texas congressman, whom he labeled “dummy Beto,” had “convinced many” that Democrats want to take people’s guns away. The tweet came after O’Rourke, whose home state witnessed recent shootings in El Paso and Odessa, proposed a mandatory buyback for assault weapons.

“Dummy Beto made it much harder to make a deal. Convinced many that Dems just want to take your guns away,” Trump tweeted Wednesday, adding, however, “Will continue forward!”

I am slowly figuring out Trump’s strategy.

When shooting occurred, he didn’t go against the media hype and outrage. He played along with general statements - “we need some kind of reform.”

He waits for hype and media talking points to die-down.

Then he Increases demands and extends requirements. Turns it into bureaucratic debate.

Then, make an idiot like Mexico Bob O’Rourke the front-man for extreme and stupid positions and reason for failure.

The leftists know that every day that passes, the knee-jerk demand for gun control wanes. And now, Trump can join Democrats in blaming Beto O’Dork for destroying any chance for legislation (that Trump never had any intention on pushing). In another month, “gun control” will return to 25th place on the priorities of American voters. Meanwhile, every NRA gun-loving patriot has been awakened by Beto’s threat.
