Saudi says Iranian sponsorship of attack undeniable

Saudi Arabia displayed remnants of what it described as Iranian drones and cruise missiles used in an attack on Saudi oil facilities as “undeniable” evidence of Iranian aggression.

Defence Ministry spokesman Colonel Turki al-Malki said a total of 25 drones and missiles were launched at two oil plants in last weekend’s strikes, including what he identified as Iranian Delta Wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and “Ya Ali” cruise missiles.

Maybe the Sauds thought we would fight all their battles for them..

or that they’d always be congressmen on the take to bribe by ‘hearing their speeches’ for a half million a pop...

And paying off pay off military contractors, brass, etc...

Guess the Sauds didn’t figure that the end of ‘million dollar speeches’ along with the Trump administration meant the end of buying American blood to spill on their lands.

Guess they’re in for a surprise.

Clearly Iran doesn’t care if their ownership of all these attacks is known.

Macron and Rouhani are into significant discussions. Macron is Trump’s point man. Trump won’t budge on sanctions.

All foreign and seizable assets of the Central Bank of Iran, the National Development Fund of Iran, and Etemad Tejarate Pars Co. are now frozen.

The Iranian Rial is worthless, open market has it at over 100,000 to the dollar. Iran can’t finance its foreign military puppets without dollars or euros. So Iran’s imperialism has ground to a halt.

Iran is plenty embarassed. The almighty Trump card left is to shutdown all credit, debit and ATM transactions inside Iran, That’s next, and there will likely be a civil war inside Iran. That’s what we want.

Now Iran is proposing a gulf security force, themselves and the neighbors, patrolling the gulf and ending our military presence.

That’s what Iran wants. Then they would have a free hand. Iran bullies the gulf arab states until they all join together, with the arabs dragging their feet while hanging on to the tail of the tiger.

With that clout, Iran would have enormous influence globally and the sanctions would collapse.

we’re waiting for them to lob a nuke into Tel Aviv or europe on the tip of an ICBM they have been developing, then we might think about doing something serious.

So, the "deal" has, for a long time, been that the West - basically the US - would protect SA in return for relative stability in the oil markets, and, therefor, relative stability of the global economy. FReepers may not like it, but, we ARE a part of the global economy, and changing THAT would be a long, difficult and in many ways very harmful project indeed. Just getting more balanced trade agreements has been tough.

Lol...what a load of neo-liberal interventionist crap.

The House of Saud has been ground zero for Islamic extremism and terror for decades...and deserves to suffer anniliation.

Now it looks like all the chicken-hawks are coming home to roost.

15 of the 19 hijackers on 9-11 were Saudi. OBL was Saudi, his father made his money connected to the Saudi kingdom, the Saudi's propagate Wahabbism throughout the world and promote the most violent sect of Islam world-wide.

The Saudi's can deal with Iran. They've purchased tens of billions of planes and weapons through us, let them spill their own blood protecting their oil.

No more American blood should ever be spilled in the Middle East, IMO.

Concurring bump...although I doubt KSA could beat Iran without American boots on the ground.

Funny. All of Islam has said it will attack us if anything happens to Medina and Mecca but what will they do when Iranian tanks roll into them?

I don't know about Iranian tanks, but something happened to a key transit hub linking Jeddah & Medina this morning.

No more American blood should ever be spilled in the Middle East, IMO.

The rest of my quote was omitted for some unknown reason, so to correct the record, I said "No more American blood should ever be spilled in the Middle East, IMO. The exception being Israel." Why Israel? They're the only democratically elected government in the Middle East and our ally.

Now to address your post: you think KSA cannot beat Iran without American boots on the ground.

Should it ever come to pass that KSA were engaged in war with Iran, there's no way in hell the US Government would let Iran win. Let's be clear about that. Whether that means boots on the ground I have my doubts, superior firepower and bombing from above I'd place my bets on.

Iran has attempted to provoke KSA, America and anyone else who's a Saudi oil consumer (directly) through their drone attacks. That KSA is going to be back online so quickly should tell Iran that it's going to take a lot more than some drones to knock KSA offline for a meaningful period of time.

And if that were to happen, I suspect Iran would rue the day they attacked Saudi Arabia. I'd bet we have more than air superiority up our sleeves and have well probed Iran's cyber security and can plunge the entire country into darkness with the push of a button very quickly.

As I work for a large multi-national bank, we've directly seen the best Iran's cyber-attacks have to offer and we've withstood them all. The FBI and other Intelligence agencies have collected tons of data on Iran's cyber-attack facilities as a result, their methods and more. Trust me: Iran doesn't want the United States of America knocking down their cyber-defenses like an empty coca-cola bottle and running roughshod over their public utilities and turning their defense systems against them.

It'll happen.
