My buddy the dentist has flat out told me that cleanings are nothing more than a way to find SOMETHING wrong with the patient’s teeth.
He compared it to an automotive “free inspection” at a mechanic. You know they are going to find something wrong.
He also admitted to filling “cavities” that were “potentially” worrisome.
I would bet a similar thing goes on in all medical practices.
