i wonder if they get subsidized and that’s why they can have patient pay such little amount?

I really doubt that is all they make off those services.

I went to a dentist located at a walmart one time and they just wanted to tell me they couldn’t give me the low price that was listed and quoted to me over the phone when i set up appt.

I have saved tens of thousands of dollars buying a generic for Lipitor at Sam' Club and being a plus member. The plus membership provided additional discounts {unknown to me} but pointed out by one of the Sam's employees.
