Hillary Clinton has more people betting she’ll be the 2020 Democratic nominee than any...
Newsweek ^ | 9/18/19 | SHANE CROUCHER

Posted on 09/19/2019 2:08:13 AM PDT by Mr. Mojo

More bettors at one British bookmaker are backing Hillary Clinton to be the Democratic Party's 2020 nominee than they are any of the candidates actually running in the race, giving her better odds of winning than Senator Cory Booker and Beto O'Rourke, among others.

At the bookmaker Ladbrokes, Clinton has seen enough backing by bettors to rise to the seventh favorite for the 2020 nomination at 20/1. Booker, a senator of New Jersey, is eighth at 33/1. O'Rourke, a former representative of Texas, is ninth at 50/1.

"We're baffled, to be honest," Matthew Shaddick, head of political betting at Ladbrokes, told Newsweek. "We've taken more bets on her to be the Democratic candidate than any of the other runners.”

The odds reflect the view of the betting market. The shorter a person's odds, the greater the chance the betting market believes he or she has of winning the contest because bettors are placing money on them.

"She would be by far the worst result for us—i.e., the one we would lose most money on," Shaddick said. "Hence, her odds have come in from 50/1 to 20/1."

Leading the polls is former Vice President Joe Biden. But Biden is not the favorite in the Ladbrokes market for the Democrats' 2020 nominee. The favorite is Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren at 6/4. Biden is currently the second favorite at 5/2.

In third place is independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, a democratic socialist, on 5/1.

"I've seen some speculation about what might happen if Biden had to drop out for some reason—perhaps that would leave a space for her to occupy in the field?" Shaddick said of Clinton.

Right now, Michelle Obama is 100:1 odds. Stacey Abrams is 200:1.

The other side is pretty much incapable of critical thought and has been brainwashed into thinking people like Hillary and Obama are enlightened leaders trying to save the planet and change the world to some nebulous Progressive and cosmically better social order>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Yes.

There is a name for it: “ Utopian Liberal Fascism”

And a great article with historical analysis on how it works, a great read:

Hate to burst your bubble so early in the morning, but no one is going to be indicted or held accountable.>>>>>>>>>>>>

Oh yes. there will be an accounting. If its not in the courts it will either be at the ballot box or in the streets.

Indictment is far more preferable to handle these traitors.

Maybe, but I think Hillary is really aiming at a Supreme Court spot.

Then she and her ‘husband’ can continue their life’s work of stuffing their pockets and trashing the US

re. I don’t think Americans want another four years of the Magic Negro.

Perhaps so, but far too many people vote to get stuff for them or make a statement, not to improve America.

If she’s breathing, she’s scheming, plotting bribing, cajoling, threatening, promising, etc. people to run.
Right now she’s trying to figure out how to clear the boards so she can walk in and take the nomination. She may not succeed in getting the nomination but she’s not done by any means.

If she’s breathing she’s trying!

The person who comes into the convention to save the day will not have the baggage of having to take unelectable positions to appeal to the Democrats lunatic base nor will that candidate be tainted with the bitter animosity of the Democrat base like Hillary was with angry Bernie Bots who refused to bite for Hillary, just like the pissed off Hillary PUMAs who refused to support Barak Obama in 2008

I don't think it is possible for someone outside the field of candidates to be nominated at the convention. By the time the of the convention, I can't imagine more than 2 or 3 candidates left. The nominee would be one of those. I don't think the rules would permit them to nominate someone else. If something happens to a candidate after the convention, the executive committee would make the selection.

I’m pretty sure that’s for the first ballot only. After that, anyone can be nominated. And more importantly, the establishment superdelegates then get to vote. So if no one comes to the convention with a majority, Hillary has a real shot.

Hillary Clinton may soon be under indictment for sedition and trading in classified information.

I don't believe that for a second. However:

1) Have you seen any recent pictures of her? Her legs in particular? She shows every sign of congestive heart failure. It will be a miracle if she's even around in 2020 let alone running.

2) The rabid moonbats who have seized control of the Democrat party are actually FURIOUS with her. In their view she played dirty pool to kneecap Bernie and then ran a lousy campaign which made EEEEEVIL Orange Man the POTUS. They are heaping scorn and blame on her in the places where Leftists hang out. She is viewed as a corporate sellout. No way they allow her to be the nominee again.

Permit me to add a few things in Hillary’s favor for 2020. She has proven that she can beat Trump. By popular vote, that is. And compared to the rest of them, she’s a centrist, someone who can appeal to the independents.

But then there is that health thing. Well, the mainstream media covered for FDR. They’ll cover for Hillary. Heck, if Hillary somehow gets the nomination, she’d probably be too physically weak to debate Trump. So she’ll refuse to debate him, because he is a “hater”. And the the media would agree, and praise her high moral standards.

I guess people are incredulous that all the Dems have are a bunch of 3rd rate leftist radicals and Joe Biden. Will the world wide progressive socialist movement die whimpering?

Hopefully!

The Mooch is not going to run in my opinion. They just bought that giant estate. Why would she want to work as POTUS. Her ego is huge. She demands $4200 to come hear her spew out her racist rants against white people. Loves to hear herself talk.

I’m pretty sure that’s for the first ballot only.

Let's say you are correct. Obama controls the DNC through Perez. It is unlikely Hillary gets the nod. If something like that happened, all heck would break loose even if it was someone else. There would be a big risk of voters being angry and staying home on election day. There is still plenty of time for someone else to get in, but Joe would have to get out. Right now 2/3 of the polls go to the commies and 1/3 to the perceived moderate, Biden.

That’s an important point that works against Hillary. Let’s say it’s a brokered convention. I can see Biden’s delegates switching over to Hillary on the second ballot. But Bernie’s delegates certainly would not.

So Hillary would need Warren’s delegates to get the nomination. “Hey, Liz. Release your delegates to me and the next seat on the Supreme Court is yours.”

Unlikely, but possible.

Talking through this, it seems to me Warren eventually will be in the drivers seat. Biden has a slight lead in the polls because of name recognition. Once it becomes clear he has too much baggage and isn’t as mentally sharp as he used to be, he is finished.
