This is a dangerous time for comedians who make inappropriate remarks, putting Stephen Colbert in an especially precarious position. On Tuesday Mr. Colbert welcomed presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass) to his Late Night television program on CBS. Mr. Colbert then engaged in a conversation which many journalists find deeply offensive when he pressed their favorite ideas candidate to explain how taxpayers will bear the cost of her ideas.
After a pleasant several minutes of discussion Mr. Colbert told the senator that the most radical thing that youre proposing is Medicare for All. The comedian then continued where friendly journalists often fear to tread:
Colbert: You keep being asked in the debates: How are you going to pay for it? Are you going to raise the middle-class taxes? How are you going to pay for it? Are you going to raise the middle-class taxes? Warren: So, heres how were going to do this: Costs are going to go up for the wealthiest Americans, for big corporations. Colbert: Taxes is what you mean by costs? Warren: Yeah, and hard-working middle-class families are going to see their costs go down. Colbert: But will their taxes go up? Warren: But, heres the thing Colbert: But, heres the thing. Ive listened to these answers a few times before and I just want to make a parallel suggestion for you about how you might defend the taxes that perhaps youre not mentioning in your sentence... Isnt Medicare-for-all like public school? There might be taxes for it, but you certainly save a lot of money on sending your kids to school and do you want to live in a world where kids arent educated? Do you want to live in a world where your fellow citizens are dying

I hope the Treasonists are stupid enough to nominate her, Trump will absolutely obliterate her in a debate.
Partisan non-funny comedian giving campaign tips on national tv. Thank goodness the “media” is fair.
PAYWALL. No thanks.
Warren, et al are loonies.
If Americans are stupid enough to buy into this Communist insanity the world is destined to enter another Dark Age which might last for centuries.
Warren would create a new class of wealthy people—tax attorneys!
Taxing the rich is like herding cats—they can move their assets and income faster than the tax man can find them.
Workers in the Eurozone pay 60% income tax for all the Government they can stand.
I don’t think he really called her out. He was offering a suggestion that she should sell the tax increase as being for the common good. Losing strategy, IMO.
Meanwhile, the rich have all the tax havens they need:

The two ladies depicted in your photo will be denied medical treatment because of their obesity if the government takes over. Pizza and fast food will be banned. Everyone must eat properly (according to government standards) or face the consequences. You can take that to the bank!
If Warren is the nominee, there won't be a debate, for exactly that reason. Her backers are not really that stupid. They need a presentable, articulate front man (or woman) to act the part of United States President. They don't need to win a debate. They need to put on a good show that will fool the voters.
"A politician who promises to rob Peter to pay Paul can always count on the support from Paul".
None of the Democrat candidates can afford to face Trump on the stage.
I’ve been puzzling how they are going to explain why there can’t be a debate.
So far I can’t come up with anything, but I am sure they will.
