Beto O'Rourke: If You Can Own an AR-15, Why Not a Bazooka?
Breitbart ^ | 21 Sep 2019 | AWR HAWKINS

Posted on 09/21/2019 1:50:12 PM PDT by Mr. Mojo

Democrat presidential hopeful Robert “Beto” O’Rourke responded to those who want to keep their AR-15s by asking why they do not pursue ownership of a bazooka as well.

O’Rourke’s comment came after a gun-totting mother in Aurora, Colorado, told him that he was not taking her guns.

O’Rourke later took to Twitter and wrote, “A woman in CO told me ‘hell no’ she won’t give back her AR-15. I listened, but by her logic: Why shouldn’t you be allowed to have a bazooka or a tank?”

Look up “Abram Bevier Cannon” on the internet.

He personally owned a cannon which helped protect the settlers from Indians. The cannon was then the largest arm of its time.

Someone please tell beta

Honestly, I never wanted to own a bazooka until beta Male talked about it.

Now I want one.

They were legal, right up to 1968.

You could buy anti-tank guns and anti-aircraft guns through the mail up to the 1968 gun control act.

There was *one* crime committed with a Lhati anti-tank gun that was stolen from a dealer, in an international robbery, before 1968.

No one was hurt. The gun was used to break into a vault.

(The genesis of the movie Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.)

One property crime with a stolen gun, and they were banned for the entire population.

The perpetrator was arrested and sent to prison.

Time to get rid of the NO BAZOOKA law, but they shouldn’t be open carry, concealed only.

Beatoff Ororke would be crippled with fear and have a nervous breakdown if he ever saw what goes on at the Knob Creek and Big Sandy shooting events.

EXACTLY! I am kicking myself for not bringing this up myself! He is simply ignorant.

Was that a Solothurn? Or a Lahiti? I am too young to remember that, but I have seen photos of those advertisements.

want a bazooka. Semi-automatic AR-15’s are not military grade. Bazookas are.

If you'll settle for a French built, Israeli surplus LRAC that uses the old WWII U.S. 2.36-inch/73mm bazooka rocket, you can get one from SARCO in PA, Item RL006. Around $350. Deactivated, so it'll need a little work, but no big deal.

Besides, they're crew-serviced. Could you imagine what would happen if one hollered "LOAD!!" at one's wife?

If I did that, she'd put a 500-round belt in her MG42....

Uh, 'cause they don't make bazookas any more? Where would a person get one?

See post # 174.

I would rather have a working Panzerfaust. Simple to use and can take down an armored car.

Correct, and the recoilless black powder launch cartridge is a thing of simplicity and reliability. We also found that the circa 1943 shaped charge warhead remains remarkably effective to this day, and an improvised Panzerfaust 60 can penetrate 12-14 inches of face-hardened armor plate today, just as it did then.

About $40 to build the launcher, three to four times that for the projectile, depending on your economies of scale.

Big Sandy Cannon Shoot.

All artillery shown are civilian owned :)

Be sure to watch to the end where the old Soviet D20 152mm fires off a round.

W84 is a lot more portable, and was formerly fitted to the Davy Crockett recoilless launcher mounted on an M38A1 or M151 Jeep.

Don't ask me how I know.
