An old geezer here: Compare and contrast. Growing up in the teens being threatened by a theoretical disaster called “climate change”, that may or may not alter our lives. Warmer, we might have more storms and polar bears may die off? On the other hand Canada’s wine industry booms. Colder would be a real bummer and we’d have to migrate south.

Now those of us who grew up in the 50s had the more real threat of nuclear war obliterating mankind. Cuban missle crisis, Berlin, etc. etc. But I remember the fantasy was being stuck in the fallout shelter with a pretty girl—you know, starting human kind all over. The movie ‘Matinee’ captures the spirit of the time.

Same here. My beautiful conservative single 23-year old granddaughter informed me last week not to expect great-grandkids. I asked why and she said she doesn’t really like kids. LOL IMO, a woman that doesn’t really like kids shouldn’t have them.

She doesn’t dislike them but she likes old people better. She gets her license next month to be a Physical Therapy Assistant and is going on to be a Physical Therapist. Her goal is to work to help elderly people with mobility issues. When she did her clinical’s she worked at rehabs for the elderly.

I’m like you. I survived the Cuban Missile Crisis, The Vietnam War era, and the Civil Rights movement. Most of the young snowflakes now probably shouldn’t breed.
