The Netherlands have been historically the best European baseball team, because of the players from Surinam, so that’s quite a feat for Israel.

Israel also has a Rhythmic Gymnast (Linoy Ashram) who could win gold. Bronze at World Championships in All-Around behind Russian identical twins..

They would have been a dominant Olympic team years ago if the IOC allowed those great professional players of the past in the Olympics ... like Abe Ruth, Shlomo DiMaggio, Mordecai Mantle and Pete Rosenstein. :-P

There was an article about the Israeli team in the WSJ a few weeks ago. The team is mostly American Jews who have dual citizenship. Nothing wrong with that, though. Mazel tov!
