Lewandowski: House testimony shows I'd be 'a fighter' in the Senate

Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said in an interview broadcast Sunday that a combative House hearing illustrated qualities that would make him a good Senate candidate while remaining noncommittal on whether he would mount a bid in New Hampshire.

“I’m very, very seriously thinking about running for the United States Senate. After this week… no American citizen should have to go through what I had to go through … should never have to be disparaged or attacked the way that I was by these committee members because they didn’t like my politics,” Lewandowski told radio host John Catsimatidis on AM 970 in New York.

Lewandowski also accused the House Judiciary Committee of targeting him for his support for President Trump, telling Catsimatidis: “When you attack a Trump supporter, it’s okay. There are two different sets of rules. And the American people are tired of it. And I believe the people of New Hampshire, they want a fighter in the United States Senate. And I’d say this week was a clarification of that’s who I am.”

The former campaign manager has long teased a potential run for Sen. Jeanne Shaheen’s (D) seat in 2020, tweeting out a website hinting at such a campaign during the hearing last Tuesday and saying the next day that he was “very close” to a decision.

Corey will make a great senator and will continue to support Trump, not stab him in the back like Lyn’ Ted. And, he’s a Natural Born Citizen.

The U.S. Senate is no place for strong personalities who call themselves “fighters.” It’s one of the most effete institutions in the world outside of a daytime TV show on the Lifetime channel.

It was quite the audition and it’s the Dem’s fault he got it.

You know, if I lived in New Hampshire, I’d vote against O’Brien simply because he’s supported by Lyn’ Ted as a dig against Trump.

O’Brian exudes charisma and excitement /s

A less known politician would be hard to find with the exception of the three Trump primary challengers whose names escape me.

I loved it when he said lying is what he’s all about. It was so refreshing.

Bill O’Brien led the Republican House to cut state govt spending by over $850 million dollars in NH, an over 10% cut in spending. He saves NH from the imposition of broad based taxes. Show me one other politician in America who cut govt spending by 10%. I like Lewandowski but O’Brien can point to actual, tangible, and important results.

If Corey wants to be a fighter he should run for governor somewhere. “Milk-toast” is part of the job description of a U.S. Senator.

Love him or hate him, former New Jersey governor Chris Christie described the Senate perfectly a few years ago. When asked by a reporter whether he’s run for the Senate after his term as governor ended, he said he’d drown himself in the Potomac River after his first day on the job in such a useless institution.

Unlike Lewandowski, O’Brien is actually a CANDIDATE right now.

okay, and will O’Brien drop out when Corey announces on October 1 or whatever he has planned? And, will you support Trump’s pick over Lyn’ Ted’s pick once Corey announces?

I doubt that the voters in New Hampshire really have the guts for a real “Live Free Or Die” kind of guy as one of their Senators. They seem to be a pretty tame and compliant bunch to me.

I don’t live in New Hampshire and I honestly don’t much care who the GOP puts up in that race. Leave it to the people who are actually going to vote.

If Lewandowski hasn’t announced by now, I suspect he has no money to run and needs to see how much financial support he can generate from his House testimony.

I really like the guy, but this does not look like the campaign strategy of a winner.
