In a sane world, these kids would be angry in 15 years when the earth is still here. But, at some point of time, their attention will be slowly focused on some new doomsday scenario and global warming will be forgotten

It will be the "unfair" health care costs of their parents that is increasing their debt burden in addition to their college debt.

It will be time to off mom and dad.

The cure was the same (more socialism) but the fear promoted was "a new ice age" rather than global warming climate change.

They had to change the name in the last decade or so, because climate change is harder to argue with than global warming.

That is so encouraging.... I would never have guessed that this high a percentage believed that the rapture was this close!

People my age can top that. In the 1950's and 60's we EXPECTED our world to end with about five minutes warning at the tip of a Soviet ICBM. Kids in Russia EXPECTED the same thing, but at the hands of a guy who looked like Slim Pickens in a flight helmet. Principle difference, of course, ours was a legitimate expectation and not some deranged fantasy.

We couldn't do anything about it but get on with our lives and enjoy what time we had. And I always thought the phrase "Brain Drain" only referred to a migration pattern.

There does seem to be a great distinction between the opinions of urbanites versus rural people.

It's probably based on the expectation that survival in the cities will be close to nil and that the five or ten percent who do survive any coming catastrophe will be in rural areas. The people in the cities and the people in the country both seem to know this.
