Those who remember the 1960s and 1970s should also remember the “survivalist” manuals and books available at that time, since Civilization was supposed to collapse in the 1980s.

Then they moved the goalposts and the collapse of civilization was to be when the Y2K hit.

There is a difference though. The people who followed the “survivalist” manuals and books were trying to fix a problem or prepare for a problem. The preppers were learning skills which helped them in other areas of life.

This group of morons are thinking “eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die.” They are learning nothing, preparing for nothing and will continue to be worth nothing.

Global thermonuclear war was a much more credible threat than "climate change".

The collapse of the USSR did much to alleviate that threat, and the perception of it.
