A formal vote to initiate an “impeachment inquiry” is not technically required; however, there has always been a full house vote until now. The reason not to have a House vote is simple: if the formal process was followed the minority (republicans) would have enforceable rights within it. Without a vote to initiate, the articles of impeachment can be drawn up without any participation by the minority; and without any input from the executive. This was always the plan that was visible in Pelosi’s changed House rules.

No surprise here. When they won the House I said they would impeach Trump. It now looks like that will happen by Thanksgiving. The remaining fight is in the Senate.

Hey now - that’s ripe for an idea - announce her replacement BEFORE she dies!! He can always say that someone told him she died and he was ready to do his job of replacing her. Who could argue with that? He’s just going with what he was told! In fact, the person who told him wasn’t actually the one who heard it. A chauffeur heard it from a gardener at a neighbor’s house who heard it from the maid who heard it from the nanny.
There are two governments right now, they never considered Trump the President and have completely worked around him, making and changing whatever they need to do their business. They are the resistance to our vote. They are now in a position where they think they don’t have to be secretive anymore, they can say their secretly formed government was in the best interest of the country.
