Another reason comedy is dead is that many leftist “comedians” don’t do comedy. They stand up and say the most vile things about non-leftists. They vie with each other over who can be the most cruel and disgusting. There is nothing funny about that.

Exactly. What is considered funny anymore by the mainstream is just mean. BUT only if it is against the ‘right’ target.
Family Guy is an example of this. It may be ‘funny’ but it is extremely mean spirited towards an individual. Usually one who is not in a ‘protected class’.
It’s the same reason I don’t go to comedy clubs anymore: The ‘comedians’ are nothing but angry rabid liberals that do nothing but insult non-liberal politicians. I don’t go to comedy clubs to get preached at by liberals.
