Was that located in the Richard Jewell wing of the museum?

Yes. Across from the Dan Rather Great Hall of Nonexistent Typewriters and around the corner from the Matt Lauer Hall of Shame.

Went through it a few years ago. Told them it was overwhelming self-congratulatory. I did not like it.

Maybe we should persuade Scaife or some other wealthy conservative to buy it.

What’s so great about this place that I have to pay a $24.95 admission to go in, while the Smithsonian museums, with all their amazing stuff, are free?

So now it can come out of of the closet and re-open as a manure factory.

I’ve never been to this updated Newseum but the original in Arlington was very good and about news and news stories, not journalists. Too bad they lost sight of the mission, both of the museum, and the role of journalists.

Yes, it was originally opened in Arlington, free or close to free admission. Then they ‘got too big for their britches’ and built this monstrosity on PA Avenue. Not sure what they will do with the building that also houses a Puck restaurant.

You mean to tell me that a museum failed even after forcing all of those school kids to go there? Color me shocked.

Ok thanks for the update. Its been a while since I’ve been in DC. Trump should buy it and convert it like he did the post office.

If I were stupid rich I would buy it and rename it The Fake Newseum. Dedicate it to the spread of propaganda from the days of yellow journalism to today..

It wouldn't cost much to open a small place called 'FAKE NEWSEUM'...

The first exhibit could be dedicated to the New York Time's Walter Duranty - then move on to the bimbo's who wanted 'knee pads' during the Clinton years then down to the horrors we have today... stenographers to corrupt democrats.

Do we have any rich billionaires like the equivalent of a 'right wing Soros' who wants to have fun 'granting' us the money from a 'foundation/slush' fund? Could be a lot of fun for everyone involved.
