CrowdStrike and the Impeachment Frenzy
The American Spectator ^ | 10-4-2019 | George Parry

Posted on 10/04/2019 5:21:35 PM PDT by Sir Napsalot

No wonder the Dems are nervous: The alleged Russian hacking of the DNC’s computers is proving to be a Hillary campaign and DNC scam that went unchallenged by Messrs. Comey and Mueller.

In his telephone conversation with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, President Trump requested Ukraine’s help in getting “to the bottom of” the Russian collusion narrative and the role of CrowdStrike, a private computer security company, in propagating that story. Lost in the volcanic eruption of faux outrage and condemnation aimed at the president by the Democrats and their wholly owned media subsidiary, this reference to CrowdStrike indicates that the Justice Department’s investigation of the counterintelligence operation against candidate and president-elect Trump may be hot on the trail of exposing what could well be a seminal lie that the Democratic National Committee’s computer server was hacked by Russian operatives.

(snip)

In their breathless coverage of the Russian hacking story, the media downplayed the very odd behavior of the DNC, the putative victim. For, when the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI learned of the hacking claim, they asked to examine the server.

But the DNC refused.

Why would the purported victim of a crime refuse to cooperate with law enforcement in solving that crime? Was it hiding something? Was it afraid the server’s contents would discredit the Russia-hacking story?

(more snip)

As set forth in its memorandum, VIPS's investigative findings were nothing short of stunning.

First, VIPS concluded that the DNC data were not hacked by the Russians or anyone else accessing the server over the internet. Instead, the data were downloaded by means of a thumb drive or similar portable storage device physically attached to the DNC server....

Note: Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS), an organization of former CIA, FBI, National Security Agency, and military intelligence officers, technical experts, and analysts. And not a right-wing cabal or a group carrying water for the Republican Party.

Long story shortened:

VIPS stated that “direct access to the actual computers is the first requirement” in any valid forensic analysis.

Yet Comey led FBI AND subsequent Mueller inquiry only relied on third party CrowdStrike's (who also worked for DNC) own forensic analysis on face value.

The whole article is well worth your read.

This is the meaty part of the article -

(excerpt)
So it is that Trump’s reference to CrowdStrike had to have sent shockwaves through the Democrats and their media enablers. Unless the DNC has followed Hillary Clinton’s example by using BleachBit or hammers on its computers, it is still possible that an honest direct access forensic analysis coupled with a simple records search by the NSA could prove that — in addition to Mueller’s finding of no evidence of collusion by the Trump campaign with Russia — the whole Russian hacking story was a scam orchestrated by the DNC and the Clinton campaign.

No wonder the Democrats and their media co-conspirators are running around with their hair on fire.”(end excerpt)

Picture the normies watching Hillary being taken away. The timing has to be perfect.

There was no hack, the DNC data was leaked by Seth Rich.
They murdered him for it.
Russia,Russia, Russia was invented to cover that up.

Good article. Valid points.

That said, the first person to pick up on this at a national level was Rush Limbaugh. He made these points on his program the very next day and made it the major point of his opening segment.

I dare say Limbaugh’s program reaches far more people than this writer could ever dream of reaching.

Nonetheless, the more people who are aware of this the better.

This is the weakness in the VIPS analysis. If you are going to copy an entire directory or directories containing files, doing so file by file is not the way. Instead, you would create an archive file (zip, tar, rar) and copy that, removing the original when done. When later expanding the archive, the file creation dates would look like a high speed transfer (22.7 megabytes per second).

This doesn't happen on Unix/Linux based systems. It happens on Windows if you are not careful.

All the major media accounts are not helpful—they are just ranting about “conspiracy theories” and beating up on Trump.

Hopefully the White House will have the opportunity to provide their explanation on what information Trump was seeking.

Crowdstrike was co-Founded by Dmitri Alperovitch in 2011.
Alperovitch is of Ukrainian origin, and is Chief Technology Officer of Crowdstrike. The company’s President is the FBI’s former head of cybersecurity.

Crowdstrike previously claimed to have uncovered a major cyberespionage case wherein Russians, likely GRU, hacked into a Ukrainian artillery control system, and used the data to target counterbattery fire. They claimed large percentages of Ukrainian artillery pieces were destroyed because of this.
They had to withdraw the claim later.
Significantly, Crowdstrike based its “findings” of Russian hacking of the DNC servers on the presence of two “Russian” hacker “signatures” (cutely named FancyBear and CozyBear?) — conveniently known to them from their work on the Ukrainian artillery case.

VIPS is an anti Semitic group of Lyndon LaRouche folks that supported John Kerry and were involved in helping Valerie Plame against Scooter Libby. LaRouche is usually associated with Germany.

For that reason I strongly suspect their version of the DNC server story is about as trustworthy as the Democrats’ .

Your analysis did not explain the behavior of DNC, nor FBI investigation, nor SC Mueller entire team.

The FBI tried at least twice, and possibly more times, to “alert” the DNC to specific hacking attempts. The DNC supposedly blew the FBI off, leaving the hackers to run wild for weeks or months. Implies one of three things:
1) epic incompetence by the DNC;
2) knowledge that the “hacking” was their own operation, that they did not want exposed yet; or,
3) the FBI was in on the hacking.

How did the FBI know there were hacking attempts on the DNC’s servers? Does the FBI monitor everyone’s computers? Or just special pals? Something makes me think that unravelling this thread would expose the truth of the whole operation.

Not saying we should totally rely on VIPS for this alone. This is only one data point. On top of a lot of other data point.

But the more people look into the oddity of “Russian hacked DNC server” and Jennifer Palmieri’s assertion that Russians did it to help Trump win, the better.

Wikileaks Assange himself said Russians didn’t hack the DNC server, but we shouldn’t trust him either. Right?
