Consider posting online as equivalent to publishing in a searchable, digital newspaper.

Never threaten anyone online or offline
Be prepared
Always de-escalate
Never escalate
Whomever draws a weapon out first is usually the one going to prison

I couldn’t agree more! I took the pro-gun and NRA stickers off of my vehicles several years ago. The only people I discuss firearms with are trustworthy friends.
I have been a member of The Legal Defense Network ever since they started. They send you DVD’s that go through scenarios on what you should do when the “what if “ ever happens. Mossad Ayoob has been very involved with putting this together. I believe it costs $150.00 a year, cheap insurance.

Years ago I was part of a Police defensive action which resulted in the self-induced exicited deleruim death of the perp by “positional asphyxiation”.
I didn’t do “social media” (a non sequitor/oxymoron) then and I don’t do it now.
But I was nearly hung by a verbal statement made to a hospital security guard, who, when he said “he got you pretty good” prompted my answer “Yeah, but I got my licks in”.
DA exonerated us and the civil suit was settled out of court.
Lesson: STFU, in person and (escecially) on line.
You can’t just smash your Blackberries and bleach your server and expect your emails to go away. They are a permanent record somewhere.
It is virtually impossible to use a firearm in self defence against a “special group” who make up a vast majority of violent felons, and not be prosecuted. Even if you aren’t imprisoned you will still be ruined.

This is slightly off topic but literally did happen just as I say. In a light-hearted thread approximately 2 months ago, I mentioned that I watch a different Hogan’s Heroes episode through my phone on YouTube as I fall asleep every night. At the time there were hundreds of full-length Hogan’s Heroes episodes available on YouTube. The next night, they were all deleted and not available anymore.
( I wish I had more details, but ‘I know nothing’)
