Hmm....that works out to 0.058% of the U.S. population. So, roughly 6 people out of a hundred are licensed to carry.
It's good to see that number rising, but it's still far too low.
Stratify out the kids, the infirm, the very aged and the prohibited and you may be surprised how many lawful adults are actually licensed as a percent of the population.
Plus, some states like MO do not record at the state level who/how many have CCW licenses ( before the record closed, in 2013, there were 162k with licenses, now we have closed records at county level, and a permitless state as well).
I would guesstimate the rate at closer to 6-8% able bodied/lawfully able.
Of course, unless situation permits, most licensed folks don’t carry all day every day due to work restrictions etc.
