My USMC Infantry son cross-trained in Kenya, going into the bush with Kenyans and their equipment for a few weeks.
For him, this was a vacation of sorts, had a good time and thought highly of the Kenyans.

Somalia, not so much, he said the country is covered in trash, literally!
One location was known as the plastic bag factory because they were everywhere.
