There is something not being said about this problem.

It is my belief that it is not necessary to shut down the electricity to all users in a specific area, resulting in no gasoline, traffic lights, groceries, etc.

The power companies could simply shut down transformers in critical areas so that only those areas would be affected.

This is what happens when specific areas suffer storm damage causing wires down.

Funny how there are electric utilities in other western states and they do not have a problem...you have to cut down the trees near power lines..it is that simple..

Plus since they quit logging in the 1980s to save the trees and spotted owl..there are no roads into the forested areas so ..you cannot fight a fire you cannot get to...

Then it becomes a wild fire..

In a form letter from SoCal Edison we were accused of “not being serious about conservation.” Our bills during the Summer months can be as high as $475.00, but then too we are air conditioning 3500 sq ft. in triple digit weather here in the Inland Empire area.

I’m still astonished a power company, a company in business to supply power that we willingly pay for accuses us of “not being serious about conservation.”

Welcome to liberal California.

BTW: I fueled up my truck yesterday @ $4.579 a gallon, and that was a lesser grade fuel then the Premium I normally put in the truck.

This is bull crap. This goes back almost two decades when PG&E wanted to build more power plants to accommodate CA’s increased demand. Protesters were more interested in protecting the environment, so they shut construction down. Years later, during energy shortages, PG&E instituted a policy of “rolling blackouts” where various regions were subject to power outrages for several hours at a time whereupon power was restored while a different area was blacked out. The process was done to ration power during high demand periods. This is the same process, but under the guise of preventing forest fires. Yet another case where Liberals want their cake and eat it too. I’m glad to see this, as it points out the shortsightedness of much of the Liberal agenda.

Californians have to go without lights, refrigerators, and air-conditioning.

Instead of properly managing California forests to reduce the chances of big fires, Democrats are saying Californians have to go without lights, refrigerators, and air-conditioning.

This is certainly true but it's not just California liberals causing the problems. Several years ago I worked in a job where I assisted foresters (private and govt) on federal issues related to logging. Many of the clearing permits that are issued become held up in court due to lawsuits filed from all over the country. I recall some group in Rhode Island that was constantly suing to stop clearance of dead and dying trees in the Plumas and Lassen National Forests.

Think of all the carbon they’ll be saving.

How long until California falls into economy collapse? I sure as heck would be getting out of there if I’d ever been stupid enough to move there in the first place.

(Note: I’m sure it was a nice place before the rabid commies took over. Funny how rabid commie places end up as rd world shiite holes, isn’t it)
