WASHINGTON — Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, will testify to House committees leading the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, defying the State Department's direction not to cooperate.
“Notwithstanding the State Department’s current direction to not testify, Ambassador Sondland will honor the Committees’ subpoena, and he looks forward to testifying on Thursday,” Sondland's attorneys, Robert Luskin and Kwame Manley, said in a statement Friday.
Sondland's joint deposition before the House Foreign Affairs, Intelligence and Oversight committees is scheduled for Oct. 17.

Sondland could go either way, he’s a Bush supporter that came around to Trump after Trump won the nomination. He was made ambassador to the EU probably due to his fundraising. He’s been working closely with Trump on Ukraine the last few months.

Luskin is married and has two sons and two step daughters. Luskin's step-daughters are currently in college, while his sons are working: one is based in the middle East where he is head of humanitarian access for an NGO providing aid to refugees in Syria;

That’s was my thinking as well. A more likely scenario would be:
1. Resignation.
2. Testimony.
Plus the other obvious option.
Is it signed by the ranking member, because if it isn't, it's just a piece of paper.
Sondland testifies.
Trump sues for libel.
Sondland defends with “I was subpoenaed”.
Trump demonstrates it was, legally, not a subpoena because the impeachment investigation is, legally, not an impeachment investigation.
Trump sues lead Democrats for libel, and wins.
Schiff just wants the additional salacious headlines when Trump fires him.
Apparently he’s going to testify next week.
I believe this kangaroo court has no subpoena power. These are faux subpoenas the coupist Democrats are issuing. Could be wrong there.
Trump will decide. Regardless, it will be positive for Trump.
