Folks,
Anyone can be a manager when money is unlimited. You can make a lot of poor decisions. When money gets tight you are force to make decisions. Tight money does not necessarily mean you make better decisions but it might.
The UN might be useful under better management. Can one imagine Trump managing the UN in future years?

Good. Maybe they’ll hurt so bad they close down the UN building. Give it to homeless vets.

Yeah, when the USA does not fill up their pockets, they go unpaid. We are always the one that pays the bills. We are the world’s policemen. We are the Red Cross for all the world’s ills. The big tsunamis, earthquakes, etc., we are the ones who run over and give first aid, supply food, supply water, build back the countries. Yup, without all those USA tax payer dollars, the world would starve or die off from the ills of nature, etc. Yup, the US Dollar cover the world.

Europeans should pick up the slack.

IIRC, the UN decides what funding it wants, and then demands member states pay X% of that number.

Warns staff could go unpaid. Nice to see the UN salaries finally becoming commensurate with the work.

How are they going to afford to send troops to war torn lands to watch rapes and massacres.. Don't you mean "to rape" since that seems to be the general case wherever UN troops go?

A little investigation reveals that the USA pays 22% of the UN budget.
Under the 2015 “assessment” that is $654,778,938.00 thee largest “payer” other than the USA is Japan at $293,960,45400.
For reference China the #2 economy pays $139,694,305.00 roughly 1/5 of what the US pays, 1/2 of what Japan pays with an economy that it 3X Japan’s.
The United States should not be paying one thin dime to the UN.
