What could go wrong with that?
I have family that lived in South Africa 20-30 years ago and loved it, but admit the cities in particular are now unrecognizable to when they lived there. They figure every white is walking around with a T-shirt that has “Kill me” written on it. They loved where they were at. Loved the rural blacks. But it is SOOOOOO not a retirement home for whites!
Spring of last year, I went and spent 16 days in South Africa (on both sides of the country). I will say from potential...it’s a land that has tons of commerce potential. Politically, it’s screwed up to the ninth degree and every element of the government is corrupted. Toss in the fact that maybe 20-percent of the residents of the country aren’t South African...maybe a third of the country’s citizens marginally have a 5th grade education, and everyone has given up on any solution ever occurring.
I talked to one tour guide....black gentleman who could lay out the entire landscape in ten minutes. Everyone has given up on black leadership, and probably half the population expects some massive collapse or civil war within the next fifteen years.
If the husband is Jewish, he should leg it to Israel at the first opportunity.
