Somebody should ask how Hunter Biden got a direct commission as an Ensign in the U.S. Naval Reserve in the first place. A direct commission means no boot camp, no sleeping in barracks etc. Hunter Biden was over 40 years old when he was commissioned as an Ensign. Most Ensigns are about 22 years old.
That was going to be his resume' enhancer when he eventually ran for political office.........

There are programs where the Navy directly commissions people with certain expert qualifications. Public Affairs( no pun intended) and Intelligence ( no pun intended ) are two. There are age limitations which were waved for him.
