Kurdish reality check

I have researched and published considerably on the question of genocide. The current nonsense in the media about President Trump abandoning the Kurds is nonsense. It is more than evident that the media's interest in the Kurds is purely a cynical attempt to gain more adherents for a continually failing Never Trump movement. Here are several key reasons the Kurds have not been abandoned by President Trump and no one should draw a negative implication to the Trump decision to reduce our troop presence in Syria:

1. The Media Elite abandoned the Kurds when they Annihilated President Bush on the Iraq War

The BBC literally removed Kurds from public surveys about Iraqi support for the US invasion of Iraq in 2003. Kurds of course supported the invasion at about a 90% level and if this data had been included the American public would never have been deluded into believing the Iraq war was a bad idea, Our intellectual overlords have no regard for the Kurds and we should have no regard for their crocodile tears today. Saddam dropped WMD on the Kurds at Halabja and Samantha Powers knows it [Obnama security advisor] and yet today we pretend 'Saddam never had WMD' If that is true, let the Kurds rise from their graves at Halabja.

2. Obama campaigned upon and won arguments for abandoning the Kurds in 2008 and 2009

The US withdrawal from Iraq in 2009 is much more important and germane to abandoning the Kurds than our current consideration of Syria. The tens of thousands of US troops prematurely withdrawn from Iraq created ISIS and unleashed a multiporong policy of genocide against Kurds, Christians, Yazidis and anyone in the way of the ISIS supremacists.

3. Obama slaughtered Kurds again with the Iran deal

Iran like Syria, Iraq and Turkey hate the Kurds. Giving them a billion dollars in the nuclear deal and refusing to support iterative insurgencies agains the Shia Supremacists ruling Tehran was an incitement to further genocide of the Kurds trapped in Iran. This is NEVER discussed.

4. Trump defended and increased support for Kurds in Syria from 2016 to 2019-- that is more than generous

This work exceeds all support ever given to Kurds in Syria in US policy history. Only Trump has exercised successful defense of Kurds in Syria. No other president can make this claim.

5. The Kurds are spread across four major nation states: Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Turkey

The most important logistical defense of Kurds is in Iraq. Our troops have been moved to better positions in Iraq where we have clearer chains of command to protect Kurds wherever they are. There is essentially an unofficial Kurdistan in northern Iraq. This is because of Republican leadership on the question not the Democrats or Trump reactionaries. Defending the Kurds in Syria is probably the least valuable defense of Kurds we can make. Iraqi defense is ideal and viable.

6. The destruction of ISIS by President Trump is an incredible foreign policy success that overshadows all false arguments about the Kurds

ISIS killed Kurds and a variety of groups as noted previously. Their annihilation in the past three years is an amazing accomplishment compared to Obama forfeiting Syria and Iraq to ISIS. Obama is the most pro genocide President we have had.

All of these items add up to net absurdity with regard to media treatment of Trump on the question of the Kurds. The media hates the Kurds and anyone who might legitimate a Republican President. No one should be fulled by the present fake analyst expositions we see and hear each day.

I cannot find it now, but I saw a post which said that Trump gave the Kurds 3 years - with equipment and US support - and told them that at the end of that he would withdraw. Did anyone else see this? Seems to me this would make a difference.
Thanks!

Those people cheering the Syrian Army coming to defend them from Turkey are the Kurds.

“nobody is going to read all that. Bullet points please.”

Not to pick on you, but is that really beyond your reading limit?

Here is a good explanation from somebody that lives on that side of the world and without the American politics that our media seems to want to play when reporting everything.

Amir does a really good answer of explaining what is going on over there and gives the geopolitical long answer defending Trump’s actions, if you have 15 or 20 minutes to listen. He points out how Trump’s move is making the Sunni/Shiite thing occupy Iran’s thoughts again instead of letting them plan trouble in the region.

500000 DEAD Syria during the Obama years.

What would victory look like? The US needs to be out of this quagmire.

Marco, Graham and their buddies have destroyed enough lives.

It’s obvious that the media supports the Kurds now because they can use them politically. While lying, as usual.

I read it— and it is excellent. Refine/edit it down and post it elsewhere, on other blogs and sites that will get read and circulated. obi won-keyobi by far killed more Kurds, and it is also true that GHWBush set several groups of Kurds up to fail— manipulating and lying to them.

The situation with ISIS is that our NATO “ally” is led by a lunatic who says he’ll be the next Caliph— and told the Saudis this to their face. He’s on their ‘list’. Erdogan supported ISIS- fencing stolen iraqi oil, and aiding obi-won kenyobi’s (and McCain and hitlery’s ) gunrunning distribution was through Turkey to the ISIS they created (money in gun running by callous liars). Turkey is not targeting ISIS— they are letting them out of the prisons! The great game- of getting rid of Erdogan begins— the only reason he invades the kurds— is his flagging political position internally. All NATO is moving to get Ergogan gone- is in consideration.

There is no question (and even Lindsey Graham now gets it) that there are many kinds of Kurds— aligned by their non-state existence over many countries. The so called Syrian Kurds are but one coalition (PKK). We help the greater “kurdistan” from our bases in Iraq.

The western outreach of the Kurd turf is strategically unimportant and indefensible against an armored force. The Kurds are much better situated in northeastern Syria and northern Iraq.

1994 Rwandan genocide   (estimated 500,000 to 1,000,000 Rwandans were killed)

“Intelligence reports indicate that United States president Bill Clinton and his cabinet were aware before the height of the massacre that a 'final solution to eliminate all Tutsis' was planned.

However, fear of a repeat of the events in Somalia shaped US policy at the time, with many commentators identifying the graphic consequences of the Battle of Mogadishu as the key reason behind the US' failure to intervene in later conflicts such as the Rwandan genocide.”
