The man is a neocon. No principles other than NeverTrump, foreign intervention, and big Machiavellian government at home.
Bolton is all about Bolton, and he was very upset when Trump dismissed him, and IIRC, said he was going to “get back” at Trump.
I’ve never liked him because I thought he wanted to be President ....without this tedious stuff of getting elected.
