The responsibility for this fiasco is on Erdogan for not realizing that the strategic interests of the United States have changed due to our energy independence. We no longer need to ensure the uninterrupted oil supply from the Middle East because we don't need it. Also both of our allies in the Syrian Civil War are for shit. Turkey is constantly backstabbing America and has been doing so for decades and the PPK Kurds are nothing but violent marxist nut jobs. I hope they kill one another until they are too exhausted to go on.

As far as the Congress Critter idiots complaining about Russian influence in Syria, all that can be said is that Syria has been a Russian ally for over 50 years and that Obama’s bloody regime change failed before he left office. Obama created ISIS. ISIS was his ugly, evil baby and America ended up having to kill them all wholesale because they were so murder-happy and disgusting. .

Syria and Russia will redeploy ISIS, not eliminate them, both to keep them oht kf their hair as well as to insure they stay in ours. They were the ones who nurtured them in the first place against us in Iraq and who gave them safe haven along with Saddam’s top Baathists.
