I wouldn’t doubt that the Kurds will not easily be persuaded without a lot of blood flowing.
Russians tend to not play the game the same way that US and our Allies do.
There are a lot of missing and buried people who failed to listen to Putin’s Russians dealing with threats or failure to live up to their promises.

The tone of this letter and that of the call with Zelensky are so very different. When Trump wants to make a threat, he makes it abundantly clear. In the Zelensky transcript, the only way to possibly see it as a quid pro quo is if Trump had a very nuanced tip-toe, walking on eggshells approach. Which is simply not his style. At all.
“I don’t know why folks here are so down on Pence all the time. I have watched him debate. He is good, quick, tough and to the point. Trump kind of bludgeons you to death. Pence, it’s just straight to the heart.”
Most, if not most, hate our President as much as Pelosi/Ryan and their scum do.
It is probably due to that old adage of ‘follow the money’!
The thing is not to many heads of state have PhD’s. They are the kind of person who understands fully what the president was saying in his letter..President Trump has real experience not the fake kind these Washington types have.
If nothing else, Pence showed he is not only an excellent debater, but like Dick Cheney, his ultra-calm demeanor keeps the temperature in the VP debate at a very low level making him and by extension his boss, look serious and presidential. That was certainly an asset in 2004 when John Boy Edwards was going to come in guns ablazing only to be completely disarmed by Cheney and will be again in 2020 by Pence against whatever attack dog VP the RATS have.
Thats’s what grit and grim determination looks like.
Pence is so opposite of Trump in so many ways: Tight-lipped, deliberate, self-controlled, but very much like Trump, completely committed, unflappable, unperturbed by noisy opposition. He’s a good counterpart for Trump.
