You’re welcome. There are many people who use cocaine and alcohol together just go to any major city bar or club. The rationale is obvious - they offset each other, and you can drink more without getting sleepy or sloppy, and the drink potentiates the cocaine as the booze makes it harder for the liver to filter it out.

Aside from the fact that this will increase risk of heart attack and stroke, in some it will induce psychosis. Cocaine alone can cause some psychosis from sleep deprivation or just because of its properties.

Anyway, just posted it because it goes to the thesis that nearly all of these mass shooters may have been triggered to a psychotic break by some combination of psychotic drugs either prescription, or illicit, or combination of drugs and alcohol. I think it was you who said above (and many have said and agree) we don’t have a gun problem we have a drug problem.

Yeah I have heard of stories of people trying to get off of Xanax after long term use and it was very difficult. The symptoms of anxiety, agitation, paranoia, shakes, restless leg, aches and pains etc sound horrible.

But the same can be true of heavy drinkers who try to quit cold.

People need help, but are often too proud or ashamed to get it. Or don’t want it on their “permanent record”. We need less war on drugs (which is a war on American drug consumers) and more drug treatment and education. I consider myself pretty libertarian on these types of issues - people will do what they will do - but at some point the drug takes physical control and they are no longer of free will and that is when they need help.
