He did very well.
The look of bafflement at the accusatory questions was great.
Then, he was able to fall back on his own position where Democrat lawfare was used against him.
Rick Perry kinda won me over with that interview.
I have always been lukewarm on Perry, just his dry manner, I couldn’t get a true sense of where he stood. This interview made me realize he is a true patriot, an honest and tenacious man with a dry sense of humor. No equivocation at all, there was no use of political power to investigate an opponent just POTUS doing his job and being sure American $ were not given to a corrupt government.
Keep an eye on Perry for 2024.

I saw it, I have a new found respect for Rick Perry as a result.
He may but I think he’s moving back home and
going to enjoy retirement and family.
No. He was a lousy RINO Governor. Let him stay retired.
Bill Hemmer repeats the question over and over, different format, but essentially the same question (Orangeman interfered, House democrats good), interrupts, and looks like a douche bag.
A very frustrated douche bag. Flummoxed. It was a joy to watch.

I sat and chatted with Perry for over an hour a few years back. He’s a really impressive guy. I was kind of surprised.
Here is an interesting tidbit. They guy remembers every face and name of anyone he has met. I watched him greet person after person for several hours and he knew all their names if he had met them before. He would meet a relative of someone and start naming all their relatives if he had ever met them.
All this is kind of ironic given his screw up in a debate when he could not remember something.
He’s a very smart guy but at the end of the day he is a professional pol. I’m done with them.

You’re right that he is a professional pol. But I disagree that he was a good Governor. He stayed in office WAY too long and championed such crap as the Trans-Texas Corridor (because instead of millions of illegals flooding in, we needed tens of millions instead) and the Gardasil crap. He had ample opportunity to enact a Conservative agenda, but between him “DewCrist” and Speaker Straus, the RINO Troika, it was more business as usual.
In 50 years in TX, there’s only been 2 good Governors, and that was Bill Clements and present Gov. Abbott.
So wrong....this is NOT a contagious disease like measles or mumps.
It’s amazing to me to watch people observe politicians like Perry put forth one good showing, and all of a sudden he’s 2024 material...
Some did this with Powell.
Some did it with Rice.
We have to take a broad view of their body politic to get a full picture of who they are.
We didn’t make our opinions of Perry in just a few weeks. We’ve done it over a decade or more. He isn’t the guy we want leading out. We came to that conclusion the good old fashioned way. We watched him in action. He lost us.
Please don’t view one interview and toss the decade or more of seeing him not live up to the standard necessary.
He’s a no-go.
Just saying, there have been some previous Democrats, who have done darned well, as Republicans.
There is one in fact. I was just thinking of his name.
