Unlike the peasants, these people have inside sympathizers that can pass on info. They also have the capability to do hits. You might have heard of Arkancide. Anyone coming after them is at risk.
Ultimately this is all a result of investing these agencies and doj with too much power, independence and secrecy. Very similar to what happened with the Praetorian guard choosing the emperor.

Time will tell...but for some reason multiple outlets that wouldn’t even report this investigation exists are now suddenly reporting it as though this investigation was “discovered” by internal sources - even though Barr has repeatedly spoken about it publicly and even testified about the investigation starting to a Senate committee a long time ago - not to mention entire books being written about the subject and reports in multiple publications such as The Hill.
The media is concerned it is possible something may be found, so they are setting the seeds to report that any negative findings will be false - and probably go as far as to say it is another example of an out of control President, now taking political prisoners like a third world dictator - and all the more reason he must be impeached and removed from office to save the Republic.

Mulvaney appeared to be referencing a conspiracy theory, mentioned by President Trump in his July phone call with the Ukrainian president, that a Democratic National Committee computer server hacked by Russian intelligence agents is actually in Ukraine.
Under that discredited theory, Ukraine, not Russia, hacked the Democrats in 2016. To believe that, one would have to doubt the unanimous assessment of the intelligence community and the findings of Congressional intelligence committees who have examined the classified evidence, including Republican Trump supporters.
A freakout out like that is dead sure evidence the "conspiracy" theories are dead on right, just like the "conspiracy theories" about Hillary's bad health were proven dead right on 9/11/16 when she collapsed and had to be thrown into her Scooby van like the rotten sack of pig shit she is.
