When I lived in Arizona, I used to frequent a hot dog stand in Mesa whose owner was from Chicago and he sold Chicago hot dogs. He had tables set up under the trees for shade for his patrons to sit and eat and engage in conversation.

As a result, he attracted a lunch group over the years that included many folks from Chicago. I used to listen to their stories about growing up in Chicago and how great it was.

One day, having grown up in Arizona and having never been to Chicago, I asked the group, if Chicago is such a great place to live, why are all of you guys living here in Arizona?

Almost in unison, they responded, "Well, it ain't that great!"

At least they were honest.

I have fond memories of my childhood in Milwaukee, but you couldn’t PAY me to live there ever again.

Well, maybe if I lived in the ‘White Folks Bay’ (White Fish Bay) area where crime is low and life is good behind the gates and I never had to venture far, LOL!
