AOC and Ted Cruz call out Apple for dropping Hong Kong app in joint letter

In two letters, a bipartisan group of lawmakers sharply criticized Apple and Blizzard over their recent actions in China.

The first, addressed to Apple CEO Tim Cook, expresses “strong concern” over the company’s decision to remove an app used by Hong Kong protesters from its App Store. The app, called HKMap, tracked police presence and was used by pro-democracy activists, but was removed earlier this month after Apple claimed it was being used for criminal activity. The app’s developers said there was no evidence of that, and Apple has been slammed for the move.

“Cases like these raise real concern about whether Apple and other large US corporate entities will bow to growing Chinese demands rather than lose access to a billion Chinese consumers,” the letter says.

So, I’m getting confused here. They want freedom or they don’t want freedom. Anyone have a program?

Good on them. Not happy with everything Cruz does but this isn’t bad.

THIS may be the reason that POS Beto might get that Senate seat and why Texas is slowly going purple.

What this article does not say is that Apple MUST obey the laws in countries where Apple does business, including the law in China. The law in China, and therefore in Hong Kong, which is now part of China, required they removed that App. Apple had no choice except to remove an App that the authorities told them to remove from the App Store as being in violation of Chinese laws. If a company wants to do business in China, the business must obey Chinese Law. China does not just assess fines against businesses, they arrest the managers, and imprison them, and in some cases executes them, for violations of their laws. —PING!

APPLE V. CHINESE LAW
WHO WINS? CHINA WINS.
PING!

Texas isn’t going Purple, it is just that people of Texas finally realize Ted Cruz is a phony and a jerk to boot.

I bet Trump wins the state with a 15 point cushion

Cruz could barely beat Beto

And Beto was an awful candidate and very wimpy
