This is what I have thought also. I have always wondered why Trump makes such a big deal out of calling them “lovers” in his tweets and at rallies when their is no actual evidence of that. PDJT usually has a reason.

It’s explained in the comments. The ‘pillow talk’ idea was a cover story to be able to protect higher ups. If the claim is that Ali, and she’s definitely not guilty, had ‘coaxed’ the information out of Wolfe, then Wolfe has a plausible reason to claim that he acted as a, well, ‘lone wolfe’, rather than having to admit he was following orders from the Senators. And if it was just Wolfe being a dick, it’s not nearly as big a deal as US Senators ordering the release...and so, Wolfe, a lower-level person, can be given a little slap and all is forgiven, and forgotten.

There’s a similar theory regarding Stroke-Page, again the claim is that they were 2 lovers (interesting that neither spouse ever left them) having ‘pillow texts’, rather than both being ordered by their respective higher-ups to do the dirty work. Otherwise, how can it be explained that the 2 of them were working so closely, when they’re from 2 different agencies and would otherwise never even know of each other.

Burr has announced he is not running for re-election. Not having to face the pro Trump NC voters again he is free to vote his “conscience” in a Senate trial after the House impeaches the president. If Trump is impeached, and convicted in the Senate, any investigation of the corruption in DC ends. 20 GOP Senators must vote to convict. Who will they be and what will be the payoff for each? Romney must be working hard to round up the 20 votes.
