An Arizona businessman announced his campaign on Wednesday to challenge Sen. Martha McSally (R-AZ) in the 2020 GOP primaries.

Local ABC News affiliate ABC 15 interviewed Daniel McCarthy Wednesday, during which he told the news outlet his plans to run against McSally.

McSally was appointed by Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) in 2018 after interim Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) stepped down. Her appointment came after she lost the 2018 race against Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ).

Her new challenger, McCarthy, is the co-founder of The Original Makeup Eraser, a company that produces makeup-removing cloth

The more primary challengers, the better.

Mitch & his goons need to think twice about impeachment.

Both Lee and Romney are already under water in Utah, and they're not even up for reelection. Those that are need to look over their shoulders and see an angry people!

We need to look carefully at this guy.
McSally is in serious trouble but we know the DNC game plan.
They will do anything to win including funding a fake or damaged Republican.

Is there any effort in Utah to remove Romney or Lee?

“The more primary challengers, the better.”

Yes but only one per incumbent. Splitting the base is an effective Rat/GOPe tactic. It’s how McTraitor and Flake kept getting in. The base was divided among 2 or 3 and the Rats crossed over voted for them in the Primary’s. I’ve lost count of many times that this has happened.

Speaking of RINOs up for re-election, I received this from John Cornyn:

A McSally primary challenger would need to be a serious player like Andy Biggs - not a “businessman” nobody has ever heard of. I think McSally will win the primary, but has little chance of keeping her seat - unless she joins herself at the hip with Trump.

That depends on if the AZ GOP has primary runoffs or not.

Good to see proof from the horse’s mouth that Coryn is not on “the President’s Team”.

Milquetoast RINOs like McSally are just flailing around in the Age of Trump. There instincts and consultants tell them to go one way while voters tell them to do something else. That leads them to political paralysis and loss at the ballot box.

I cannot STAND McSally. Nothing but a phony, self-serving climber.

Primary everyone, force them right at the very least. Don’t want them getting wobbly on impeachment

As far as I can tell, she has done nothing! We need a better candidate than McSally.

>> The more primary challengers, the better. <<

I disagree. More primary challengers means they will split the anti-incumbent vote and McSally can be renominated by a minority of GOP voters.

It does not. Sheriff Arpaio's running is what spoiled the race for Senate last year. He spend all his time attacking the conservative Kelli Ward and McSally won a plurality. Arpaio got 13%.

He should announce he will vote against removal if Trump is impeached if he is serious.

The more primary challengers, the more likely it is that McSally emerges as the winner. Circle behind one challenger and take her on one-on-one.
