The way for the Senate to deal with this is to vote immediately for acquittal as soon as the Articles of Impeachment are sent over to the Senate.
You want to stop this long before the President is impeached. A fake impeachment (as this is certain to be) would do irreversible damage to the executive branch; it would become political theater carried out by an Unhappy Opposition almost every time they faced an opponent they couldn’t defeat in an election.
