But Hunt said he was obligated to introduce the bill despite those challenges.
In Massachusetts, unlike other states, citizens have whats known as a right of free petition allowing them to file proposed bills directly through their legislators. Thats exactly what happened in this case, Hunt said: A woman in his district came to him this year requesting legislation, and he, in turn, filed it on her behalf. He didnt think hed get such a harsh reaction, he said.
Its funny and ironic that the constitutional provision that allows this constituent a conduit to free speech and proposing her idea has been so viscerally pushed back on by people saying this is stifling free speech, Hunt told The Washington Post. Its important whether you agree or disagree with the legislation being proposed that you honor the duty to represent your constituents and have their voices heard.

Sounds like they’re trying to ‘legitimatize’ Hillary.
He was not obligated to bring this bill up for review.
It’s silly and unenforceable.
Somebody must have called the complainant a B*tch to her face, and boy, was she mad!
What if it is a female dog?
It all depends on whether or not it self-identifies as a female and a dog.
Legislation on the way soon!
That word is not profane; it’s merely vulgar. No one cares when real profanity is uttered.

So what he could have said, to sum up his predicament, and to quote one of the great personages of his party:
B*tch set me up.
You really meant BITCH??
“What if it is a female dog?”
What is it’s a beer? (Love this ad BTW)

‘Bitch’ has NEVER been a banned word but leave it to the bitches in Boston to try to ban it.
Apparently there is no free speech in Massachusetts.
The 1st Amendment of the Bill of Rights of the US Constitution, provides citizens of this Republic free speech rights. It includes ALL speech, not just speech that some b*tch doesn't like.
This bill should go down in flames. Otherwise, the Supreme Court will find it unconstitutional.
“Sounds like theyre trying to legitimatize Hillary.”
Should they retitle the bill “Nobody can call Hillary Clinton a Bitch”? If they outlaw bitch then they will just call her ‘The Funt’
I think he is obligated, it has happened before.....usually dies in the process somewhere along the line.
Ain’t that a female dog.
Lol! My last name is Hunt and 50 plus years ago I was mockingly called "Mike" Hunt by some of my teammates on the football team as a joke, usually in front of the girls.
Embarrassed the hale out of me as a shy high schooler. :-)
Do you have any kids named Bear or Dawg?
:-)
In “The Sopranos”, Little Carmine once expounded on “The Sacred and the Propane” — your comment brought that to mind. Shows there’s more than one way to misuse any word. OTOH, Hank Hill might have wanted to discuss the topic further.
Well, we know what she is.
