My sister & B-I-L home on Fitch Mountain in Healdsburg appears to be spared so far, but in extreme jeopardy. It appears the fire circled east around the town and is approaching 101 closer to Windsor. Prayers requested for all the area residents.
Pray for everyone. We are keeping our fingers crossed here in Butte County. Any fire in our general area will sweep right through our location...due to wind direction.
Overnight all of Fitch Mountain in Healdsburg came within the fire perimeter. Bad news for my sister and hundreds of other families who live along the Russian River there. It is (or was) a lovely spot for a home or vacation home, but lots of steep hillsides covered with brush puts it at high risk for fire. I thought the fact that a fire moved through the area a couple years ago might have gotten rid of fuel on the approaches. Nope. And two bends of the Russian River were apparently just a speed bump.
